Second Level Domains Policy Review Submission From: Tracey Lewis Received: 1 October 2003 1. Q: Are the twelve second level domains still appropriate for their communities of interest? A: I believe the .geek.nz is overkill and really unnecessary, I have a .geek.nz but in all honesty I don't use it as much as I thought I might and the "geek" label is self-effacing and not reflective of the true "technically skilled" or "adept with computers" people or businesses - the main reason I see .geek.nz registrations used for are mainly personal and the few business that have registered .geek.nz are internet related and also have .co.nz or .net.nz and are sufficiently covered using existing 2LD. ...... 16. Q: Are there any other issues you think the Working Group needs to consider in the course of the review? A: I believe there should be a period of grace for trademarked businesses to register their domain names before any 2LD is made available to the general public.
