Dispute Resolution Process Submission From: AA Guides, Mark Nissen Received: 23 February 2005 Option 3, no change. In my view the area of intellectual property is not something that you should be involved in. Essentially the domain name is chosen by an individual or organisation and then you record this and then publish it. Whilst others have issues around the disputes that arise from the naming of a domain name, the decision on the basic "rightness" of a domain name should be in the public arena. To me (and this might be a little simplistic) it is the same as a library index system, having to resolve the intellectual property issues around the naming of a book. I would think that no matter what dispute resolution policy was put in place, that someone with a team of lawyers could challenge the policy anyway. Courts et al, are already doing this with books and movies etc, and that courts are where a dispute will end up in due course.
