Criteria 1:          

1.	Clearer definition is required of the word traditional. Recently 
        Rongomaiwahine have gained Iwi status from the crown, although other 
        Iwi have always been aware of their mana motuhake.

2.	Who determines the ‘traditional maori, hapu, tribes, taura here’ of 
	a rohe; and who then authenticates the group.

3.	Hapu / taura here are NOT Iwi.

Criteria 2;          

1.      Why?                Iwi are!
            
We are not opposed to the extension of usages that are proposed, and the 
potential value that may accrue to Iwi, however we suggest that this requires 
further and wider discussions.
