.iwi.nz Moderation Policy Review Submission

Re Registrations for .iwi.nz domain names will be facilitated through the 
domain http://www.register.iwi.nz which has been registered specifically 
for this purpose and is the only exemption to the following criteria. 

Submission: Does this mean we are already registered 

Re Criteria 1. You must be a traditional Maori tribe, Hapu that belongs 
to a traditional Maori Iwi or taura here Iwi group operating with the 
permission of the parent Iwi. 

Submission: A hapu o taura here is not an iwi. We have 24 hapu and ors 

Criteria 2. You must be a legal body. 

Submission: Yes 

Re Criteria 3. Only genuine Maori names will be allowed in the domain 
pursuant to the following: 
(a) If an Iwi is known by an abbreviation then they shall be accepted 
with their abbreviation as their iwi name. 
(b) Tribal project names and other Tribal owned entities including 
descriptive names will be accepted within iwi.nz. 
[ To meet criteria 3.b proof will be required]. 

Submission: Should be - only genuine iwi and iwi names as recognised by 
TeOhukaimoana will be allowed.
