Application for a new second level domain - .parliament.nz

The Department of Internal Affairs has no objection in principle to the creation of the 
proposed new 2LD as outlined in your letter of 13th April.  We do not believe it 
conflicts with the criteria stated.

However, we do have concerns about the lack of policies for allocating domains 
within the 2LD space and can see potential for confusion between uses in a 
parliamentary and executive government context.  

While we accept that it is appropriate that the Parliamentary Service is the moderator 
for the proposed domain should it be established, Executive Government Support 
needs to be aware of, and comfortable with, the moderation policies before our 
unqualified support could be given.
