Re Application for a new second-level domain - .parliament.nz
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this application.  

As you are aware, the Offices of Parliament currently use parliament.govt.nz as their base 
domain.

The Commission appreciates the application by the Offices of Parliament for the second-
level domain name, .parliament.nz, in order to be seen as constitutionally different from 
the executive arm of Government.

While the Commission does not see this as a necessary move, given that it is unlikely that 
the public will appreciate the distinction, I have no objection to the proposal.
