Who else can help

The Domain Name Commission focuses on activities of the .nz domain name space. Not all problems on the internet relate to domain names. Different groups may be able to help with online problems.

CERT NZ works to support businesses, organisations and individuals who are affected (or may be affected) by cyber security incidents. They provide trusted and authoritative cyber information and advice, while also collating a profile of the threat landscape in New Zealand.

Businesses and individuals can complain to The Department of Internal Affairs about spam and online safety including child safety. They may investigate these complaints and take action where necessary.

Netsafe is an independent, non-profit New Zealand organisation focused on online safety. They help people stay safe online by providing online safety education, advice and support. They can provide information and advice about using digital technology safely, and about managing online challenges like online harassment, bullying abuse and scams.


New Zealand Police has resources available to help with electronic crime. Electronic crime, is also known as e-crime or cybercrime, is criminal activity that involves the Internet, a computer or other electronic devices.
