Straw Vote Results - .geek.nz

The straw poll for the creation of the new second level domain '.geek.nz' was overwhelmingly in favour of its creation. Over 1,000 votes were cast with the result being:

956 FOR
103 AGAINST
6 ABSTAIN

There were a few invalid votes, due to the voter listing an international address, however given the large majority of votes in favour these invalid votes had no impact on the outcome.

The result of the straw vote means that the application to create '.geek.nz' can proceed to the submission stage. More information will be provided on this shortly.
